Scottsdale Artists School

I was fortunate to attend the Scottsdale Artist School last month. It was a week long workshop taught by Eugene Daub on the subject of relief sculpture. He would demonstrate each morning and the rest of each day was spent working from life on our own relief sculpture. Eugene was a wonderful teacher who gave a lot of helpful instruction and many useful critiques. It was an excellent experience and I can't wait to return and take another course. Below are the five reliefs that I created during the class.

Expectant Mother

This is another piece created in our modeling sessions. I love the meditation in her face..thinking of the new life within herself. The model for this piece was in fact pregnant, she modeled until late in her 8th month.
